Blue Water

Another experiment using a stretched canvas.
shapes were joined together, stamped with lumiere paint and then machine stitched.
Back stitched around shapes , dollar store fish applied and then applied to the painted canvas.
same as the small green ones above. I do seem to have trouble getting them on straight.
I really like using the stretched canvas as they are easier to hang and look a little more
finished when hung. (that is if they are on straight!!) another thing I have to work on!!

Japan Memory

TIF March piece.
I did this by hand one afternoon using silk fabric scraps which I had received from friends when
I was in Japan in 1992.
I stretched it over an 8x10 stretched canvas piece.
The colors are fairly close to our March palette.
For some reason the off white part showed up as pink on
the scanner.

monoprinting experiment #2 &3

Background was monoprinted by putting paint on the surface, doing some swirls or whatever
on it and then laying the fabric on top and rolling it with a sponge roller.
After that I embroidered a bit and then put some beads on. I then attached it to a canvas
board.

monoprinting experiment #2

This one was done by spreading the paint on the surface and putting a piece of saran wrap
over it and then lifting the saran wrap and laying it over the fabric and patting it down.
After it dried I attached the fabric. the silver colored things were the pins from a Xmas present
my husband received.

March Take It Further Challenge

The challenge this month : Notice the little things in life, small moments, small details, etc.
some of which might lead to larger things in your life.
I will have to think about that for awhile.
